Healing Justice Santa Barbara (HJSB) is a Black-led, community-rooted organization building a world where all Black/African-Americans are affirmed in their right to safety, love, equity, respect, and joy.
Formed in response to the destabilizing impacts of racism and anti-Blackness, our work centers the healing and liberation of Black people across the Central Coast. We create space for wellness, art, education, and collective action—with a deep commitment to uplifting those most impacted by systemic harm: Black LGBTQ+ folks, Black people with disabilities, undocumented Black community members, underserved youth, and speakers of African American Vernacular English.
Joining our team means stepping into a movement. It means working alongside people who lead with purpose, who value culture as resistance, and who believe that community care is essential to justice. It means showing up with and for Black communities, and contributing to the vision of a thriving, liberated future.
We’re looking for folks who are grounded in justice, guided by love, and ready to show up for community.
